Use doPDF to create .pdf files

Today many people search for softwares to save documents (.doc, .xls, .ppt etc.) , websites, emails etc. to a .pdf file. There are many such softwares like Word_to_PDF converter etc. and firefox add-on to save web pages as .pdf files.

But, I use a great piece of software "doPDF". Its a free PDF converter which can convert almost every type of document or page into a .pdf file by just one click.

Yeah, after the installation, from any application, just click the Print ( Ctrl + P ) option in the file menu and select "doPDF", you can save the file into a .pdf.

Thanks to SYSTEM RESTORE !!

For those who do not know about SYSTEM RESTORE, click here to have an insight about it.

Yesterday, I downloaded the AMD Dual Core Optimizer application from here (though my system runs on an INTEL Dual Core Processor - I thought it would work) and installed it. The installation asked me to restart the PC and I did. But then, the computer restarts, I enter my PC Password and then it shuts down again. I tried to start the PC several times but in vain and finally I booted in SAFE MODE and then using SYSTEM RESTORE, I was able to get my system back to normal working condition.

Publicize your Blog effectively

Every blogger puts a lot of effort in creating a blog and then posting content regularly but then its even more important that the content is read by many people.

Here are some great tips to publicize your blog more effectively and quickly.

Add a signature to your every mail you send using BlogSigs

You can easily add the title of your latest blog post as a signature to your mail. BlogSigs works with Microsoft Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and Hotmail. It is available as a Firefox extension also. Here are a few screenshots of BlogSigs implemented in my GMail.

Do you use Orkut ?? If yes, here are a few tips to publicize your blog through ORKUT by DJ Flush.

And for auto signature, you can use either of these greasemonkey scripts.

• Orkut Signature Script from OrkutPlus.
• Add a signature Script by OUG from Orkutrix.com.
• Add a signature Script by Aamiz from Orkutrix.com.

I would recommend the third one (i.e. Add a signature script by Aamiz) because you can add signature to any text box (as seen in the image).

Managing your money these days is a big deal if you are not using any tools. But if you are using GTalk, then you don't have to worry because, Budget Bot is there to manage your Finances.

How to use BudgetBot:
To record a transaction, type the amount spent or deposited followed by the transaction type, then any details of the transaction. For example:
58.43 h
60 b monthly cable bill
500 d payday!
The BudgetBot currently recognizes the following transactions:
b => bills
h => household
e => entertainment
t => transport (e.g. car petrol, public transport fares)
o => dining out / take away / etc.
d => deposit
m => miscellany
If no expense type is included, the expense will be recorded as a miscellany expense.
To get your current balance, type 'balance' or 'bal'
For a report of your spending, type 'report' or 'rep'
For a listing of all your transactions, type 'list'
You can limit a report or list to one month by typing the first 3 letters of the month after 'report'
For example, 'rep Aug'

Google Image Ripper - Time Saver

After visiting Google Image Ripper, I found that I was wasting a lot of time using the general Google Image search method. Yesss .. We all generally need the full size image for which we waste some mouse clicks and precious time. But now, with Google Image Ripper, you can boost your productivity because it directly puts around 40-50 full size images in one page once you click search. You can search for icon, small, medium, large, xlarge and xxlarge sized images. But, you do not have the option for advanced search. :(

PS : It doesn't have another database. Its just keeps the same Google Images to save your time.

Tutorial - Enhance your Google Talk

Google Talk is one of the several IM's we use everyday to chat with friends around the world. But, now you can use GTalk not just for chatting and sharing files but also as RSS Reader, Bookmarking, Personal Manager, Twittering etc.

Here's a quick tutorial to make your enhance your GTalk.

RSS Reader - Anothr RSS Bot

Although there are many Feed Readers available as Web and Desktop applications, Anothr is a great feed reader for IM's.
Anothr is a web 2.0 service to get feeds directly to your instant messengers (supports Skype, GTalk, MSN) . For Anothr to work with GTalk, you have to add "anothr@gmail.com" to your friends list and then type "?" for help and settings.
You can easily subscribe and unsubscribe to feeds and also set time interval for the frequency of getting the feeds.
There are also some widgets available on the site for easy subscribing.
You can then create your profile and share your feeds with the world.

Shorten URL's using TeaBot. Add "teabot@urltea.com" and then send a link to get back its shorten form.


Bookmarking

Now lets see how to use GTalk as a Bookmarking application.

1. Meshly is another Web 2.0 service which helps you to post links from IM's (supports AIM, GTalk and MSN).

For GTalk users, you have to add "meshly@gmail.com" to your friends list. Then, follow some simple instuctions and create your own mesh and post links to your mesh. It also supports Tags.
You can have a look at my mesh. You can also paste a Meshly widget on any webpage and show off your links.

You can also bookmark to Delicious using IMfied.



IMified - the ultimate robot for any GTalk/IM user.

IMified is a great tool in this Web 2.0 generation.
