Tip : Use 'CTRL', 'SHIFT' & 'TAB' keys and save time

Many of us are aware of the "Alt + TAB" shortcut which changes the open windows & applications and if there are 10 applications and we use this shortcut to move to some other window, many a times we cross over the required one and move on to next and to get back to the required one we press "Alt+TAB" some more times, instead we can just use "SHIFT + ALT + TAB" to go in the reverse direction.

You can even use this TIP while filling up forms in WebPages etc.

And coming to "CTRL + TAB" which is one of the best shortcuts while using applications with multiple tabs like Firefox, IE7, Foxit Reader etc. Pressing "CTRL + TAB" rotates through the opened Tabs in those applications and similarly pressing "SHIFT + CTRL + TAB" rotates through the tabs in the reverse direction.

I hope you use these shortcuts and improve your productivity.

Tip : SCHEDULE WINDOWS SHUTDOWN WITH NO SOFTWARE

Many a times we want to schedule a shutdown time during nights and there are many software available to do this. But Windows has built in commands for scheduling shutdown with many features.

These are CMD commands. So you have to go to Start > Run > Type "CMD"

and then

The basic command to schedule Shutdown in XP is

" shutdown -s -t xxx " where xxx stands for no. of seconds to wait before shutdown. For eg., if you want to shutdown your PC after 2 hours 3 mins, then the command is " shutdown -s -t 7389 " (without the quotes) ( 123 mins * 60  = 7380 secs )

For more options, you can type " shutdown ? " for help.

And for Vista, though the command is same as above, unfortunately, you can schedule the shutdown only for a maximum of 600 secs  (10 mins).

But no worries, because there is an excellent light weight freeware program  "WinOFF" which has many more features for scheduling shutdown and you can download it from here (726 KB).

And for music lovers, you can schedule shutdown using your audio player. Check it out here.
