Software : Aimp - an advanced audio player

AIMP2 is an advanced audio player with many useful features built in like AutoShutdown, Audio Grabber, Recorder, Audio editor and tag editor besides basic features like music library, equalizer, Internet radio, file search, playlists etc.

Basic Features :

Music Library - you can organize whole of your music collection with AIMP2 which indexes files as fast as 1 Gb in 5 seconds. You can rank files from 0-5. You can add folders, web URLs, create playlists.

Equalizer - 18-sliders equalizer and build-in sound effects
Reverb, Flanger, Chorus, Pitch, Tempo, Echo, Speed.

Hotkeys - Customizable local and global hotkeys

Advanced Tag Editor - Edit ID3v1, ID3v2, Vorbis, WMA tags. Grouping rename, group editing and sort files by one of templates.

Pros : Very Friendly user interface, many program options, all basic audio related features included, Hotkeys, Small size (less than 3 mb) , Freeware.

Cons : I found no bad feature except that its available only for Windows users and no Video is supported.
